Home to various handicrafts and superior arts traditions,shopping in Agra is a lively experience. One simply needs a fat wallet to splurge on various fine crafts, high quality leather goods and Zari embroidery work, which once were meant only for the royal family.
Since Agra was the seat of the Mughal Empire, the city till date has several master craftsmen whose ancestors have worked under the Mughals known for their aesthetic sense.

There are plenty of bazaars adjacent to the Taj Mahal complex. Sadar Bazaar, Kinari Bazaar and Munro Road are some pf the popular markets known for offering artifacts bearing the stamp of the city. Gangotri at the Taj Mahal Complex, is famous for offering handicrafts under one roof at reasonable prices. The Shilpagram crafts village offers a huge variety of handicrafts on sale, directly by the artisans themselves.
